“Mr. Pieper's courses were among the highlights of my studies. History was well prepared and communicated in an appealing way - garnished with recipes for solving well-known problems that are still valid today (keyword: Divide et Impera). Events are not only pointed out, but also interpreted and references are made to prehistory or the further course of history and today's management. Exciting, interesting and instructive - there is no other way to describe the courses I attended.”

“Since the grades have already been determined and the exam has been written and corrected, I can say without hesitation and obviously in conclusion that I found your AW subject really very good overall. Very well structured, lively presentation, active participation of the students and the repetition of the last topics using the “wall against window” game. Hats off and keep up the good work (many lecturers could take a leaf out of your book).”

“I am studying architecture (FB IV) in the 4th semester and last semester I took an elective course with Mr. Justinus Pieper. At first I was a bit skeptical about the course (Ancient Greek History), because how was it supposed to enrich my architecture studies and my life? But it soon became clear that Mr. Pieper manages to inspire the masses. So I experienced an exciting course throughout the semester, including many life lessons and tips for professional life.
Previously, I studied at Humboldt University in Berlin and was only fobbed off with gray theory. But now, for the first time, I feel like I'm being successfully prepared for professional life. Simply great! Keep up the good work!”

“I chose the course with the expectation of learning something about history. This expectation was exceeded by far. You not only learned what happened in history, but also how history works and what conclusions we draw from it for our everyday life or profession. My interest was aroused so much that I completed the courses in my Bachelor's degree and repeated them in my Master's degree. Thanks to Mr. Pieper for the very lively and motivating courses!”

“I would like to thank you again and mention that the content of your lectures is constantly useful and applied in my professional life. For me, it is therefore one of the most “sustainable” lectures. A lecture that is useful for professional life and also for the interpersonal relationships it contains.”

“At last a series of events that proves that ancient knowledge is definitely applicable and useful today - in the modern manager's everyday life. I studied Latin and Ancient Greek at school and was therefore particularly pleased about the event. It proves that ancient languages are not just for philosophers, theologians, archaeologists and so on. The structure of the event was clear and comprehensible. First, the content of the respective topic was presented, then the principles were explained and applied to today's situations. I'm looking forward to Mr. Pieper's courses next semester.”

“Prof. Dr. Pieper's seminar is one of the seminars that has given me the most valuable insights for my professional environment. Mr. Pieper puts historical and timeless teachings and strategies into a modern context in a humorous way. His courses are not only very practical and instructive, but also a lot of fun. Universities need more of this!”

“Shortly before the start of the subject area seminar, I read through comments about Mr. Pieper on meinprof.de. He is 100% recommended as a lecturer at the HWR! I can only agree with these positive comments. Mr. Pieper made the lecture very interesting, all questions were answered. The topics always had a current context. We students got so much input knowledge that we couldn't get from books, family, friends or the internet in such a short time. I also encounter important insights from the lecture in my everyday life. History was always very monotonous and boring for me until I “experienced” history with Mr. Pieper. For me, the historical review has never been as interesting, up-to-date and comprehensible as with our lecturer. The time flew by! You can't describe Mr. Pieper's lecture, you have to experience it!”

“As a prospective NPO manager, I voluntarily chose the course “Learning from history and philosophy for management” as part of the Studium Generale at my university. It is important for me to be confronted with management techniques and prepared for management tasks in addition to my business-oriented lectures in the third sector. I am glad and grateful that I took part in Dr. Pieper's course. After several “excursions” and episodes in modern times and antiquity, I can better assess the demands on a manager. The historical reference helped me to break down my departmental thinking and sharpen my view of the reality of the professional world. It was pleasant that gaps in my knowledge about historical events were not reprimanded, but rather vividly “wrapped up” in myths and legends. The reflections on timeless leadership strategies, approaches and solutions were particularly helpful to me personally. I would like to thank Prof. Pieper for letting me participate in his “success story” and wish him continued success!

“If you found history rather boring back in the sixth form, then I can only recommend that you sit in on one of his lectures. Mr. Pieper knows how to bring antiquity to life. His captivating lectures have never once made me regret going to the campus in Schöneberg on Wednesdays after my internship (and I live in Hellersdorf). I even volunteered to go to the Altes Museum at the end of the course, where Mr. Pieper offered a voluntary guided tour one weekend. This was also well attended. I can't remember if there was ever another teacher who got me so excited about “learning” that I voluntarily bought books to delve even deeper into the subject matter. You have done everything right with him and I hope that the course can continue to be offered so that many more future students can take part.”
